Ned has written an interesting piece about
the lack of WMD in Iraq. From the responses to it a very odd picture arises.
In the UK the default view, now, is that we were lied to by Bush and Blair,
that there were no WMDs and that there was no “clear and present danger” that
warranted us going to war. And yet the responses to Neds post seem to indicate
that the American view is very much the opposite. Is this just the readership
of Ned’s blog or a more general state of affairs I wonder?
If the views of the public in the only two countries to fight in the war are so
different what is the cause? Can it be the different media slants or are we
just more cynical by nature? Interesting stuff I think.
