Friday evening champagne

It has been a lovely day (weather-wise at least) so there was a mass exodus
from the office to a local
bar
to take advantage of their champagne bonanza from 6 ’til 7. Often times
London can be a horrible place, unfriendly people, dirty, noisy and grim. But
come the spring and it lights up. People seem happier generally and a few
drinks just help this along.

Unfortunately we were saying goodbye to a colleague who has been deemed surplus
to requirements since the outsourcing, he will be sorely missed. I am not sure
the management team know by just how much.

In contrast we were put into competition with .Net in the bidding for a new
system and it looks like we won. The speed with which Domino can be used to
develop an application from scratch seemed to be the clincher. So interesting
times ahead.
