At the end of last week my estate agent advised me to reduce the price of my house to see if it made any offers forthcoming. Well it did. Someone had been to see it a couple of weeks ago and liked it but felt it was too highly priced. The small reduction that I made prompted an offer but I am not sure whether to be insulted or amused. At more than 10% lower than my asking price, saying no was one of the easier decisions I have ever had to make.
It will be interesting to see whether the low offer was the start of a negotiating ploy or whether my price really is unrealistic. If the latter proves to be the case then the idea of moving to London will go on hold for a while.
