i have just been testing my connectivity setup for the laptop while i am away.
rather amazingly it all seems to be working as planned. as i have mentioned
before, i have subscribed to net2roam.
this allows me to dial-up using a modem from anywhere in the world at local
call rates. (although, hopefully i won’t need to use it too much as a lot of
hotels now advertise that they have broadband in their rooms.) so once i am
connected, using the wonders of lotus
notes i can replicate all of my mail and blog entries etc in a compressed
format. mail can be written off-line.
all this means that i should be able to keep in touch with people while i am
away, and, of course, update this site with what i am up to and some photos.
