Well hello there
I’m a software engineering leader, who has worked across multiple different industries and locations.
I’ve helped build and run a couple of companies, worked for several others, landed significant transformation programmes, and done a fair bit of public speaking around the world.
I grew up in Suffolk, England, studied geography at University College, London, and now live in South London with my wife and two daughters.

Matt White: Technology & Engineering Leader, ex-Sainsbury’s
Matt White has been working in tech since the mid-90s, starting out as a web developer back when the internet had only a handful of sites. He spent much of his programming career in Java, with plenty of experiments in other languages along the way. He has led teams of all sizes to deliver technology that solves complex business problems — and still gets a kick out of going live. Most recently, as Director of Engineering at Sainsbury’s, he drove large-scale digital transformation in supply chain and logistics, scaling engineering from 20 to 300+ people. Today, Matt helps organisations navigate using AI and emerging technologies in the real world, while continuing his passion for mentoring the next generation of engineering leaders.
