i am deep into coding for the first time in weeks at work and it is great!
things had got rather tedious recently as i was pulled from one “crisis” to
another and not left to do my real work. but finally i have been left to my own
devices and things are looking up. i am currently working on a multi-threaded
maintenance agent which runs against thousands of documents very quickly. the
actual work it’s doing isn’t complicated, the challenge is to get it performing
well and so far it’s pretty good.
apart from that things are fairly dull at the moment so i am spending a lot of
time reading for my trip next year and planning where i will go and when. at
some point i’m going to put a page up on the site so that my progress around
the world can be tracked but i haven’t decided how nerdy i am going to be about
it!
