at the moment i am looking after three different applications. by coincidence,
they are all due for release to production in the same week, so this morning i
had to get up early for the most important of the releases, as it affects
around 5,000 users. because of the setup here we can’t do out of hours work
(it’s a global app so it would be very difficult to anyway) so we schedule
downtime at the least used time which turns out to be 07:00 to 09:00 on a
monday morning. this is fine but working to such a fixed deadline always makes
things that bit more nerve wracking.
anyway, all seems to be going smoothly, we are just running a pile of migration
agents at the moment.
