drove to hells gate about 16km from rotorua. it is an area with huge amounts of
thermal activity going on. lots of steam, sulphur and bubbling mud. really very
interesting. i love driving round here, the roads are really twisty and empty
so i carried on for another 100km or so, just finding smaller lakes and looking
around. an excellent way to spend a sunday.
