enigma

we went to a lecture at the wolsey
theatre
in ipswich last night about the enigma machine
and bletchley park in the second
world war. it was quite long (almost three hours) but the fact that the
lecturer talked without notes for the entire period was singularly
impressive.

at the end of the session, the floor was opened up and two people identified
themselves as having worked at bletchley during the war. all in all an
interesting evening.

  1. Matthew, my grandpa’s next door neighbour was also at Bletchley during the war. I’ve never had the chance to talk to her about it but I’m sure she has a few interesting tales to tell
