trip

an odd day so far. there was a panic going on when i arrived as our development
server was completely down (windows and domino). unfortunately it is off-site
so we couldn’t go and look at it. several calls to the help desk and 3 hours
later we discovered the problem which had fixed 4 engineers… someone had
tripped over the two power cables and pulled them out of our fully rack mounted
box!

i don’t know if you have ever been in a corporate computer room but it this is
such an unlikely event that i think someone actually turned it off
deliberately. we were not happy bunnies as seven of us have to stay late
tonight to try and catch up the lost time.
